The first SEPF Region 4 tour event was a great success, as evidenced by the high standard of pool on show and by the many positive comments made by participants throughout the day. Tour 1 was won in fine style by Raymond MacKenzie (Lhanbryde) who only lost 6 frames all day, he completed an impressive win over Peter Fyffe (Burghead) in the final by a scoreline of 5 - 2.
Performances of note came from SEPF Ladies veteran Susan Collins (Elgin), who was competing against the men for the first time on tour. She had very impressive wins over Alan Duncan (Elgin), Mark Bell (Elgin) and Alan Mair (Fochabers), only to be beaten by the eventual tournament winner.
Peter Fyffe had a very good run to the final, beating current Elgin Singles champion Martin Hendry (Craigellachie) along the way but ran out of steam in the final against the in form Raymond Mackenzie.
Overall, the first tour event was a great success; a big thank you goes out to all players and to our sponsor Bowl 2000. Expect more quality pool at our next event in Forres on 11th September.
