Scotland started the group matches well with convincing wins over Spain and South Africa.
Day 2 of the event didn't go to plan with Scotland losing all three matchess.
The next day saw Scotland find their form again with three wins out of three against India, Australia and Channel Isles.
The final day of the group stages saw Scotland needing to win at least two matches to progress to the play off places.
Scotland won their first two matches of the day before losing to France but finished with a win against Ireland.
Scotland finished the group stages in 4th place to book their spot in the play off matches.

Play-Offs
Australia 6 - 11 Ireland
Scotland 10 - 11 Malta

Scotland faced 5th placed Malta in the play off and as in the group match between the sides Scotland took an early lead.
Malta pulled back though and forced the match into a decider which they won.
In the other play-off match Ireland, who scraped into the play-offs by one frame, beat Australia convicingly to join Malta, Wales and England in the semi finals.

Semi Finals
Wales 8 - 11 Malta
England 7 - 11 Ireland

Both semi finals produced shock results with Malta defeating 1st placed Wales and Ireland beating 2nd placed England.

Final
Malta 4 - 8 Ireland

Malta started the mens final well going into a 2-0 lead before Ireland fought back and took the lead.
Malta could then not catch the Irish and Ireland won the match 8-4 to become the new World Team Champions.

Scotland started the defence of their title with a repeat of last years final against England but a different result as England ran out winners.
The bad start was quickly forgotten as Scotland won their next three matches against Northern Ireland, South Africa and Ireland.
Australia stopped the winning streak before two wins against France and Wales saw Scotland finish the group stages in second place behind England.

Semi Finals
England 6 - 8 Northern Ireland
Scotland 4 - 8 France

Scotland faced France in the semi final but could reproduce the group result and lost 8-4.
The other semi final also produced a shock with Northern Ireland defeating England to book their place in the final.

Final
Northern Ireland 5 - 8 France

In the ladies team final France ran out 8-5 winners over Northern Ireland.

Scotland started the competition well with big wins over Spain, Ireland and Northern Ireland.
England brought Scotland back down to earth with a convincing win with Wales also defeating Scotland in the last group match.
Scotland finished in fourth place on frames difference.

Semi Finals
England 7 - 8 Scotland
Ireland 8 - 4 Wales

Scotland faced England in the semi final hoping not to repeat the heavy defeat suffered in the group stages.
The match proved to be much closer and went to a deciding frame which captain Philip Craig won to take Scotland into the final.
Scotland then faced Ireland who defeated Wales in the othe semi final.

Final
Scotland 8 - 6 Ireland

Like the semi final the final was a close encounter which went all the way to the last two frames.
Chris Corcoran won the second last frame which was enough for Scotland to take the title.

Scotland had a disastrous start to their campaign losing their first four matches.
Despite winning two of the remaining matches Scotland could only finish in eigth position.

In the first semi final England were pushed all the way by Wales to win on the deciding frame.
Australia defeated Malta more convincingly to book their place in the final.

Final
England 8 - 3 Australia

England ran out 8-3 winners over Australia in the final of the team event.
